Scammers suck

So today I get a call to go on a interview tomorrow at 10:30. The lady tells me they are local 277 Union, have two positions open, one for a manager and one for union services. Both are full time. Great benefits. She told me she got my resume off of Monster.com. Then she gives me the address.
After doing a happy dance after hanging up I decide to do some research on the company so I can be prepared for the interview. I realize she never gave me the company name....
so I search for the address and find this.....

American Income Life's subsidiary company The Halali Ins. Group located at 4300 Stevens Creek Blvd. Ste. 100, San Jose, CA 95129 is posting on Craigslist jobs which they don't have!

THEY ARE LIARS AND SCAMMER'S.

On Craigslist under "customer service" they advertised to have 2 positions open. Which they claim to pay you $14 an hour. And the advertisement also says that they are looking for sales people as well, which is ok. But, it is not what it seems!

Here is the advertisement posted on July 06, 2009.

I applied for the customer service position. I just got back from their so called interview. I been told this is a "sales-customer service" position.
Since when is the definition of "CUSTOMER SERVICE" has become "SALES"? And not only that they don't even have a position open for that! They scheduled so many people to come in at the same time you have no idea. But it was very obvious, they are collecting information from applicants who are looking for a job and generating these as leads for the future in order to sell insurance to us and/or to spam our mailboxes.

I asked the guy his name was Ernesto, (even though I was scheduled to have an interview with a person called Jose, when I asked about that he said:" It doesn't matter if it is me or him. It's the same". Later of course I understood why!

You are tricking people to come by advertising a position they don't have. And without any fear from Law they are scheduling people for interview? Wasting peoples time and energy at their worst time.

They are breaking the law by FALSE ADVERTISING! Over and over again! The posting I have embedded is dated July 06, 2009. And then they post another one on July 20, 2009. I have that, too.

Well that put up some red flags for me but it WAS from 2009., so I start searching for Union 277 in California. Funny thing that... I can't find a union 277. In fact I went to the list of all unions in California and nothing. I tried every search known to mankind and nothing.
I tried a reverse search on the phone number and it came back from San Francisco. That was weird enough that I decide to call back and get the company name just for my own piece of mind.
The phone rings and rings and finally I get a voice mail. The company name is American Income.
I go back to the scam thing I found and it is the same name. I do a search for American Income and post after post talks about how this company (Which is a real company by the way) scams people. Yes they do offer some jobs but after reading about what happens when you take the jobs (nothing good) I decided I am not going to the interview tomorrow.

You know there is something about having your emotions get so excited only to have them slam you right back down into the ground that sucks. Really sucks. REALLLLLLLYYYYYY SUCKS.

:(

  1. What Jerks! How can they get away with playing with people like that? It sounds like a smart move to NOT go on the interview. So sorry there are people like that out there.

  5. It's sad, that Our Country has become so scatterbrained that people go with fraudulent means to collect Information about people. This problem has only escalated since you posted this Blog. The Liars are like cokroaches on the Internet and create havock in peoples life for unknowing reasons. I see people like this as a pathology in our society, but the funny thing is,is that nothing is out there to stop this. I appreciate your blog and time to say something about it. The good news though is that you now have an understanding of people that live their lives full of SHIT,and will go to their graves Knowing that this is all they ever were.

  7. Okay just stop thinking! stop making a decision based on some idiots opinion on your career?
How dumb does that sound that you don't go to the interview? Are they going to eat you? Seriously, what logics lays behind that.

I been working for the company for over 4 years with only one regret, Why didn't I found them early in my career. Fortune 1000, Globally recognized, Publicly traded fastest growing, over 7k+ employees, Average entry level employees made over 48k last year.
The proof is in the pudding.
Lesson one! Go to the interview and make a decision based on your own decision, We are looking for LEADERS, not FOLLOWERS

  9. I received a call on my cell phone from a man, stating Mike Estes of the Local 277 wants to share his benefit package with others. Man says he needs to drop paperwork and needs to do it in person. He says it will only take 20-minutes of my time but, he schedules in two hour increments. I think that I will have the attorney next door sit in on the appointment.

    1. I'm sitting in the office making calls now and one of my coworkers brought this to my attention..... if you look into what the woman who started this post wrote.....she did say that AMERICAN INCOME is a real company..... yes it is, I have been here for a year and a half and my checks are deposited every week. If you don't believe me just ask my friends down at the Wayne County Court who get there money every week! Lol

But seriously, it is a sales position and you make a lot of money providing a service that everyone needs...permanent life insurance. BTW the name of our union is the OPEIU Local 277. That should clear up not being able to find us lol..... now for you that read this and just base your decision off what someone else says.... way to think for yourselves. Now for those of you that are sceptical, like I WAS, go to the overview and check it out for yourself. Yes there will be a few people there. It's a way of giving out the base information to a group instead of repeating it 40 or 50 times. Your second and final interview you are seen by yourself.

Unlike some other companies, you do have to be licensed by the state you are living in to sell life insurance. If fact, you can't sell life insurance with us if you're not..... now what scam has you get a license from the government to do it..... do your research..... When they call/we/I call you, hear us out. We will change your life for the better!

  19. You gave nice ideas here. I done a research on the issue and learn most peoples will agree with your blog. Certainly, these practices are unfair; but they say that most of their rules are only to apply to people who overdraw.

  23. I have a man who keeps calling at around 7pm. He says he is from local 277 out of Birmingham, AL. He says he needs both my husband and myself to be present in order to go over my husband's benefit package thru my husband's local union. This man never calls during the day and usually just happens to be in our area. He always wants to come over that night or the next evening. I had a bad feeling about this. Long story short, he has nothing to do with my husband's insurance package and only wants to sell us additional coverage. He presents himself tho as if he he is working for the company responsible for my husband's insurance, when he has no involvement with them and works for American Income.

    1. This also happened to us after I told this guy that twice before he sat down if he's trying to sell us something we're not interested and gave us some BS don't you want to know about your husband's benefit package so he sat down and right away he asked for numbers of people you know so he can call them and Bug them it's ridiculous and at the end of it you have to pay right there for life insurance or they say open enrollment is done and he can't come back and it's not available for 2 or 3 years this is so much b*******

      Delete
    2. Also they will not give you time a day or so to talk privately between your husband and yourself to see if you really want this it's a pressure tactic you have to make a decision right then and there why they're sitting there and seeing as we make two car payments in a house payment and I recently lost my job I wanted to talk about it with my husband and see paperwork and none of that was available
